Members of the Lowell City Council

FROM:            Bernard F. Lynch, City Manager

DATE:             May 21, 2008

SUBJECT:       COUNCIL MOTION OF 5/20/08 BY COUNCILOR ELLIOTT

“REQUEST THE MANAGER REPORT ON SNOW AND ICE”

___________________________________________________________________________

In response to the above mentioned motion, Tom Moses prepared the following status report of the Snow & Ice accounts as of this date.  The plan is to cover as much of the deficit as possible to minimize the deficit carried forward into FY 2009.  The deficit does not include “topping off” the sand and salt supplies.  While this is normally a prudent practice, the size of the deficit may preclude us from doing so this year.
