RE:              Council Motion of 4/17/07 by Councillor Rita Mercier

“Request the City Manager have the Traffic Engineer install No Parking Here to Corner Sign on Lawrence Street at Moore Street.”

Regarding the above mentioned motion, I have been in contact with Jeff Gomes, Transportation Engineer, and he has investigated the site in question with the Sign Shop and they have made some conclusions.  Jeff stated that there has been a problem with vehicles parked on the corner of Lawrence Street at Moore Street and infringing upon a safe line of sight.  Although there is no parking allowed within twenty feet of an intersection under the ordinance, “No Parking Here to Corner” signs will be erected with the expectation that they will be self-enforcing.
