RE:                   Council Motion of 3/20/07 by Councillor Caulfield

“Request the City Manager to address concerns of Recycling Contractor not picking up recycling bins.”

Regarding the above mentioned motion, I have been in contact with Gunther Wellenstein.  Gunther has stated that the Recycling Office will collect data relating to solid waste collection complaints and be put on a spreadsheet.  This information that is collected will include the date and time of the complaint; address, phone number and name of the resident, along with the nature of the situation.  On a daily basis an email will be sent to the contractor documenting the nature of the resident complaints.  At the conclusion of the month, a summary table will be generated and made available through the City Manager’s Office.  All complaints should be directed to Gunther at 978-446-7277 or to Neighborhood Services at 978-446-7243 so that the calls can be properly logged.
