Press Release - Schedule for Curbside Collection of Storm Related Debris
Lowell DPW, in conjunction with Allied Waste, will collect tree limbs & branches.
“Tree debris (limbs and branches) generated by this past Friday's Ice-storm, will be collected curbside.
Lowell, MA, Dec. 15, 2008: As long as the weather allows, DPW and Refuse Crews will be collecting limbs and branches throughout Lowell. Kindly have tree debris at the curb on your neighborhood trash day; trucks will go street-by-street to collect material. Branches and limbs should be cut to four (4) foot length and bundled. Material placed loose, in marked barrels, and in paper 'lawn & leaf' bags will also be accepted. Do not block sidewalks and streets.
As an alternative, the following five (5) locations have been set up as tree debris drop-off locations:
- Cawley Stadium Parking Lot {Douglas Rd}
- Callery Park Parking Lot {at Wilder St & Parker St}
- Edwards Soccer Field Parking Lot {end of Edwards St - off Middlesex St}
- Hovey Field Parking Lot {Enter from Hildreth St - Exit to Aiken Ave}
- Health Camp Field Parking Lot @ Acropolis Rd {Behind Pawtucket School}
For Lowell residents only. No Commercial loads!
This special collection does not pertain to leaves and Christmas trees. All existing Rules & Regulations apply: Ensure that your trash and recycling are not placed at the curb until after 7 pm, the evening prior to trash day. Due to the overwhelming volume, your patience is appreciated.
