City Owned Properties for Sale

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS SUMMARY INFORMATION


The City of Lowell will receive sealed Proposals for the sale of certain properties located at 520 Varnum Avenue Lot A, and Lot B.  Lot A contains approximately 10,892 +/- sq. ft. of vacant land and is a single-family building lot. Lot B contains approximately 197,906 +/- sq. ft. of vacant land and will be sold subject to a conservation restriction in perpetuity.  The subject properties are located in the Suburban Single-Family Zoning District (SSF) and, as further described in the Request for Proposals (RFP) packet available by contacting: The Office of the City Manager, Division of Planning and Development, at (978) 446-7200 x 1404 or request a copy by e-mailing lbevere@lowellma.gov

Open house / site walk will be scheduled by appointment only. 


All Proposals require a deposit in the form of a Treasurers Check or Certified Bank Check, made payable to the City of Lowell, in an amount equal to Ten Percent (10%) of the proposed purchase price.  All proposals for Lot “A” must be sealed and submitted no later than 1:30 P.M. (local time) March 31, 2009 and Lot “B” at 1:30 P.M. (local time) January 6, 2009 at which time the proposals will be publicly opened.  Proposals must be complete and in compliance with the submission requirements outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).  The City of Lowell reserves the right of design review and project approval. All sales are subject to a vote of the Lowell City Council.

The City of Lowell reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals.  The City of Lowell has established a minimum sale price of One Hundred Five Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($105,000.00) for Lot “A” and Forty Five Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($45,000.00) for Lot “B”.

The City of Lowell will receive sealed Proposals for the sale of a certain property located at 1769 Middlesex Street.  The property contains approximately 13,914 +/- sq. ft. of vacant land.  The subject property is located in the Regional Retail Zoning District (RR) and, as further described in the Request for Proposals (RFP) packet available by contacting: The Office of the City Manager, Division of Planning and Development, at (978) 446-7200 x1404 or request a copy by e-mailing lbevere@lowellma.gov


1769 Middlesex Street

All Proposals require a deposit in the form of a Treasurers Check or Certified Bank Check, made payable to the City of Lowell, in an amount equal to Ten Percent (10%) of the proposed purchase price.  The successful Proposer will be required to submit a performance guarantee equal to Fifteen Percent (15%) of the purchase price in the form of a bond, certified check, savings passbook or escrow account, satisfactory to the City, to insure the completion of the project as proposed in the RFP.  All proposals must be sealed and submitted no later than 11:00 A.M. (local time), Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at which time the proposals will be publicly opened. Proposals must be complete and in compliance with the submission requirements outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).  The City of Lowell reserves the right of design review and project approval. All sales are subject to a vote of the Lowell City Council.

The City of Lowell reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals.  The City of Lowell has established a minimum sale price of Three Hundred Fifty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($350,000.00).
