Small Business Disaster Assistance

The City of Lowell in conjunction with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) would like to try to help business owners in the City of Lowell who were affected by the 4/17/07 flooding find out if they qualify for disaster recovery assistance.

The City is coordinating with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) to determine the extent of damage incurred by local businesses following the 4/17/07 flood.

Please note that this form is NOT reviewed for response by the City!  Please DO NOT use it to report a hazardous condition, or to request a service!

 

You might qualify if you experienced any of the following:

Damage to property, including:

  • Flood damage
  • Debris damage
  • Disruption of business, including:
    • Inability of customers to access your business due to street closures or detours
    • Inability to receive deliveries, or place orders
    • Having to close due to disruption of utilities
    • Lost opportunity to conduct business due to missed appointments

 
Disaster recovery assistance is typically available in the form of Small Business Loans through MEMA and/or other agencies.

This information will be forwarded to MEMA and/or the SBA, as appropriate, who will work with you to determine your eligibility for disaster recovery assistance.
