Edward "Bud" Caulfield and his wife Diane have four children and two adorable grandchildren. They have resided in Lowell for over fifty years and Bud received his education in the Billerica public schools.

Councilor Caulfield was first elected to the Lowell City Council in November of 1987 and is currently serving in his 11th term. In 1996-1997, Councilor Caulfield was elected Mayor by his colleagues, a distinct honor he will never forget.

Councilor Caulfield was elected to a second term as Mayor in 2008.

In 1984 the Merrimack Valley Better Business Bureau named Caulfield "Man of the Year" for his dedication and leadership with youth organizations.

In May of 2006, in conjunction with the Salvation Army, Councilor Caulfield formed a committee of twenty-five dedicated people who raised $140,000 for citizens of Lowell who where affected by the May 2006 flood.

Caulfield is a member of the Lowell Commission on Disabilities.

Bud also serves on the Salvation Army Advisory Board.

Priorities:

Councilor Caulfield is constantly working to make Lowell a better place to live, work and educate our children.

  • Founder and director of the Highland Players, which raised over $500,000 for schools, hospitals, churches and various other charities
  • Former member of the Friends of Lowell High School
