Armand Mercier has resided in the City of Lowell all of his life and is the father of six and grandfather of ten. Mercier is the founder of Mercier Realty, a family business since 1985.

In 2004-5, Mercier served as the 32nd mayor.

Mercier has served on numerous subcommittees including Economic Development and Downtown, Public Safety, and Zoning.

On the statewide level, Mercier served as the Governor’s Representative for the Lowell Housing Authority.

Mercier has helped many people in the community.  The Mercier Multi-Service Center, a place that provides programs for kids and seniors alike, was named in his honor.

Mercier also has served as Director and Chairman of the Lowell Housing Authority, Vice President of Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment, Center Cities Committee, Board of Director of Community Teamwork, Inc., Board of Director of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, Chair of the Greater Lowell March of Dimes and Delegate of Central Labor Council.  As Director of the Lowell Preservation Commission, he has made the city proud of its heritage.
