CITY OF LOWELL
NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO
ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
The City of Lowell is amending its FY 2005-2006 Annual Action Plan as follows:
$14,000 in CDBG funds is being made available to the City of Lowell, DPD Small Business Loan Program to support start-up costs for new businesses.
Additional CDBG funds in the amount of $250 have been provided for project delivery expenses related to the City of Lowell, COOL Arts District Signage.
The City of Lowell is amending its FY 2006-2007 Annual Action Plan as follows:
CDBG funds in the amount of $33,325 have been made available to the Coalition for a Better Acre to support the rehabilitation of affordable housing units on Merrimack Street.
Lowell Transitional Living Center has been awarded $4,050 in CDBG funds to support its Healthy/Safety Program to purchase new beds for its shelter space.
$4,000 in CDBG funds has been awarded to the Lowell Council on Aging to support its Asian Outreach Programs.
Using $4,000 in CDBG funds the City of Lowell, DPD has partnered with the Fair Housing Center of Greater Boston, to provide training and outreach on housing discrimination and fair housing issues.
The City of Lowell, DPD Demolition Program utilized $21,995 in CDBG funds to demolish three storefronts destroyed by fire.
CDBG funds in the amount of $30,000 have been allocated to the City of Lowell, DPD for the completion of a children’s play structure at the Mack Plaza Park in downtown Lowell.
$9,000 in CDBG funds has been awarded to the City of Lowell, Police Department to support its Precinct in the Acre Neighborhood.
CDBG funds in the amount of $25,000 have been awarded to the City of Lowell, DPD to support the design phase of the Shedd Park Playground/Spray Park.
$75,000 in HOME funds has been allocated to the Community Glue Company, to create five new affordable housing units at the Marston Building on Middlesex Street.
The City of Lowell, DPD utilized $473,571 in HOME funds to purchase 391 Pawtucket St., which will be converted into new affordable housing units.
